Olga Rapai is an outstanding Ukrainian sculptor and ceramist who made a significant contribution to the development of decorative and applied art in Ukraine. She was born on August 10, 1929, in Kyiv in a family of the intelligentsia. She studied at the Kyiv Art Institute, where her mentors were famous Ukrainian artists. After graduation, she worked at the Kyiv Experimental Ceramics and Art Factory, where she created numerous sculptures, decorative panels, and ceramic compositions. A combination of folk traditions with a modernist vision distinguished Olga Rapai’s work. Her works decorated public buildings, theater interiors, parks, and private collections. She was one of the brightest representatives of Ukrainian artistic ceramics of the second half of the 20th century. She died on February 1, 2012, leaving behind a significant creative legacy that inspires modern artists.
