The project unites artworks from different periods, including key pieces of Ukrainian avant-garde art. Nineteen works from the Stedley Art Foundation collection are showcased alongside pieces from the collections of the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art, the Odessa National Art Museum, the Kröller-Müller Museum, the Fundatie Museum, and others.
The National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art presents works from the museum collection by outstanding Ukrainian artists at the exhibition. These include Kateryna Bilokur’s “Flowers and Nuts,” 1948, Hanna Sobachko-Shostak’s “Rare Flower,” 1912, Maria Prymachenko’s “Big Quarrel,” 1936, and “Brown Beast,” 1936.
Each section of the exhibition offers a unique view of Ukrainian art, exploring themes such as Practices of Resistance, Culture of Memory, Space of Freedom, and Thoughts on the Future. The project is accompanied by a catalog that details the presented artworks and the context of their creation.
The exhibition project “Kaleidoscope of Histories: Art from Ukraine” will run until January 28, 2024.
