Friends! The museum opened an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous ceramist Valery Protoriev “Space of Kindness”.
The jubilee exhibition presents about 180 works of Valery and Nadiya Protoryevykh, a talented couple of artistic ceramic artists who lived and created together while working at the famous Vasylkiv majolica factory. This is almost half of the creative output of artists, which is kept in the museum collection.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the well-known series of ceramic works by Valery and Nadia Protoryev with the author’s title “Good Animals”. Fantastic, kind, smiling animals, as always, are especially popular among viewers. “Horse with foal” became one of the symbols of Vasylkiv majolica.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by artists, former students and admirers of the artistic family, who recalled interesting details of the life and work of Valery and Nadia Protoryev and the entire powerful creative team of the artistic enterprise in Vasylkiv.
Among them is the artist Serhii Denysenko. His father, Mykhailo Denysenko, was the main artist of the plant for more than 30 years from the beginning of the 1950s. It was he who represented and defended the products of his colleagues at the artistic councils of the Ministry of Culture in Kyiv. “When the Art Council approved the works of the Vasylkiv factory, there was usually applause at the end,” Serhii Denysenko shared his memories.
During the opening of the exhibition, which took place with the musical accompaniment of Bohdan Kozlovsky, a new album from the “Museum Collections” series was presented, dedicated to Valery and Nadia Protoryev. From now on, it will be available for purchase at the museum kiosk.
The exhibition will last until June 30, 2024.
