Friends! The museum opened the exhibition “Mother’s Daughters. Zinaida Vasina and Hanna Kryvolap”, which was attended by numerous friends, colleagues, fans of the work of the famous artistic family.
All the participants of the event noted that the exhibition turned out to be warm, sincere and interesting. After all, the exposition presented the works of several generations at once – the artist Zinaida Vasina, handmade items of her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as the painting of her daughter – Hanna Kryvolap.
“For me, this is a landmark exhibition, because I was a kind of mediator between the work of my great-grandmother and the modern generation of our family. The line of culture and artistic creativity passed through me,” said Zinaida Vasina. The exhibition works of the artist herself are part of a large series of drawings “Evolution” of the artistic and scientific reconstruction of the Ukrainian historical costume, on which she worked for many years, as well as modern pictorial compositions.
No less interesting are the early works of Hanna Kryvolap from the series “Reflection of Identity”, which the artist created at the age of ten. Her mature works from the large series “Ribbons” are also presented, which give the audience the opportunity to feel what artistic skill the artist has achieved.
The highlight of the exhibition is the collection of “Folk Toys” (1902-1994), created by Zinaida Vasina’s grandmother, Vasylina Borisova. These are real rarities that have been lovingly preserved in the family.
“I am very grateful to my mother for the fact that she preserved these artifacts – toys, embroidered towels – the work of women of previous generations. I think this is very important, especially nowadays. These works give us strength, energy, and inspire new projects,” Hanna Kryvolap shared her thoughts. The artist also admitted that holding a joint exhibition with her mother is her childhood dream, which has finally come true.
The main idea of this art project is to demonstrate the infinity of the Ukrainian family, the inexhaustibility of the talents of Ukrainian women, which are passed down from generation to generation. This is a kind of illustration of the “family tree of life” established by the traditions of the Ukrainian people.
The exhibition will last until December 2.
