In the pre-holiday days of December 2024, an exceptionally beautiful exhibition “Transparency” opened in the museum, which presented works of art glass, stained glass art, graphics and paintings by a whole “quartet” of artists.
Three well-known Kyiv artists Larisa Pisha, Oksana Stratichuk, Olena Pryduvalova agreed that “transparency” is the most important for the works they selected for joint exhibition. Selected works from the museum collection of the outstanding art glass master Ivan Apollonov (1933-2018) became an organic part of the exposition, filled with light, color, and precise lines.
Leading stained-glass artist Larisa Pisha presented a series of elegant stained-glass windows using floral motifs – “Cornflower”, “Clover”, “Red Flower”, “Grandmother’s Flower”, “Stormy Greens”, “Fresh Wind” and others.
Graphic designer Oksana Stratiychuk presented elegant graphic compositions with color images of flowers and herbs, supporting the conversation about the fragile ingenuity of symbols of female beauty, undefined in particular, it is “Carpet. Ivy”, “French still life”, “Flowers in a glass vase”, “Zucchini”. “Autumn bouquet”.
Painter Olena Pryduvalova demonstrated compositions of various formats from the series: “Kyiv Diary”, “Alchemy”, “Interiors of an old building”, “May. August”, “Kyivzelenbud”, in which there are dramatic images of bouquets, herbs, trees, urban landscapes and interiors, as well as glass vessels that live in her workshop.
Exquisite works by Ivan Apollonov from the museum’s collection of art glass, including the compositions “Morning of Kyivan Rus”, “Up in the Forest”, “Willows”, “Poplars”, “On Native Meadows”, as well as vases “Sunflowers”, “Jubilee”, “Chestnuts of Kyiv” “, “Plakhta”, “Flowers”, “Makivka” add to the perfection of the ensemble of works. “Transparency as a skillful and free expression of one’s creative credo – can there be anything more life-affirming than this affirmation of our common faith in the victory of truth over ugliness, fear and entropy?” – says Diana Klochko, curator of the exhibition.
